-Saffarid Dynasty (861 - 900 CE) Yaqoubi Zaranji was the first Independent non-Arab Muslim. In the year 861 CE Yaqub seized the rule of Kandahar/Sistan from Dirham and began to expand the territory under his control. He killed most of the Independent ruler Ratbil Khan from Kabol. Then he captured Harat from the Tahirids, and caliph's governor from Shiraz.
-Samanid Dynasty, (819 - 999 CE): Founded by Saman-Khod-a-Balkhi.
-Ghaznavid Dynasty, (998 - 1186 CE): Descended from a Sassanid general who established himself a ruler of Gaznia.
-Tamurid (1360-1450 Ce): Timur shah related himself with mongols, first selected as a governer of Samarqand in 1366, and was select as ruler of Balkh in 1369, was recognized as an emperor in 1370. The Timurid state came to being an integrated Afghan Empire was under Timur's son Shahrokh Shah of Herat (1405-47).
-Moghul of India (1526 and 1707): Zahir-Uddin-Muhammad-Babur (1483-1530), popularly known as "Babur", meaning lion, was the grandson of Shahrokh Shah and son of Umar-bin-Shikh Murzafrom a brilliant general of Ibrahim Lodhi to a local ruler of Kabol, in 1504 at age 21. Slowly defeading weaking of Lodi. In 1526 marched towards India.
