daughter of gaza
Posted On 01/05/2009 22:41:37
Tanks rolling in, and you see women everywhere crying.
You see little children, scared, not knowing if they're dying.
Little daughters, with their dolls, in the closets they're hiding
as they see the death tolls of their loved ones gathering and piling.

Little daughter, hiding in the closet, her blessed heart beating.
It's on her blood, her blessed blood, that Israel is feeding.
She's hearing explosions and tragic sounds she shouldn't be hearing.
Is it fair, in that young age, there are people she's fearing?

Is it fair that she saw her father go, in front of her own eyes,
and in front of her blessed eyes, she saw her father die?
Is it fair that over her father's body, for hours she cried,
And out of love for her dead father, she slept by his side?

Is it fair she shook her father, begging him to recite Qur'an?
Is it fair after finally giving up, she said her farewell Salam?
Is it fair that she hugged her dead father, and kissed his burns?
Is it fair that she didn't get a kiss back in return?

Is it fair while walking away, her blessed eyes look back?
hoping her father would take her home, to a family she lacks?
Is it fair, while walking away, she fears all the danger,
and runs back to her dead father saying, "Baba, protect your little angel"?

"Baba, you promised that you'll always be there, always, to protect me,
and i need you now, because danger is all i see.
Please Baba, get up, I don't wanna be alone,
please Baba, please, I'm scared, I wanna go home."

"Please Baba get up, I know Allah says obey your father
I know sometimes i was bad, but I promise to be the best daughter.
Please come back Baba, please, I fell and got a boo-boo
and I want you to kiss it, because it won't get better until you do."

"Tomorrow is my 7th birthday Baba, I want you to come back to me,
and I'll wear my favorite dress, I'll look so pretty.
Mama said she'd do my hair, I want you to see,
And in the night, I want you to read me a bedtime story."

"Baba, what is death? Tell me, does death hurt?
Can you come back to life, if I pick you off the dirt?
Baba, I'm not going home, I wanna die with you,
I'm gunna lay next to you, and put your arms around me too."

"Baba, I'm getting hungry, but I'm not gunna be eating.
Unless you get up, and before me, to you food I'll be feeding.
Baba, I'm crying, it can't be happening, did you really die?
Baba, I love you so much, I never got to say bye."

"Baba, the world is getting dark, and I am feeling weak,
but look Baba, look, I'm still with you, take a peak.
Baba, am I dying? because I can't see
But your arms are around me, and that's all I need."

Baba, remember that one night, I got scared and came to your bed?
And you told me to be brave and told me the shahadah should be said?
Well, now I feel calm, but I still wanna say the shahadah
I'm feeling weak,Baba, I love you........Ash-hadu Allah illaha illullah.............

the Shia Disussion: "The Religion in the sight of Allah is Islam"
Posted On 01/04/2009 19:48:27

Salam Alikum,

the ayah in the title is from: Qur'an 3:19

As Muslims, most of us are well aware of the different sects, if we can even call them that, of Islam. The mainstream, average Muslim knows there's a Shi'i community in Arizona. We know that there a couple of "Shi'i mosques" and some of us have even met a couple of them. But we talk and categorize them sometimes as if they're so different from us-- unfortunately, we have made them into victims of misunderstanding. But how different are we?

This note is dedicated to learning the truth about what it really means to be Shia. What is Shia? How is it different from Sunni? What happened between us, besides the politics that divided us?

Insha'Allah, we kindly request that our Shi'i brothers and sisters will lend us some knowledge and give us some truth so that we may better understand each other and unite under the umbrella of Islam.

P.S. EXCUSE ME FOR MY POOR PRONOUN USAGE. I WASN'T LOOKING TO MAKE "TEAMS" OR GROUPS OF US. I hope you can overlook that

Before we start, I would like to reemphasize a couple of things.

1) This note's purpose is solely for knowledge and truth insha'Allah.
2) This is NOT to be taken personally... please.
3) We are to respect each and everyone's opinions/ beliefs even if we disagree with them. We are to agree to disagree.
4) We are to respect each others' beliefs and remember not to disgrace them.
5) Finally, insha'Allah we can remember not to disgrace any respectable figure of either "sect".
6) REMEMBER THAT WE ARE HERE TO LEARN.

MAY ALLAH GUIDE US TO THE TRUTH, HELP US UNDERSTAND IT & MAKE IT EASIER TO PRACTICE INSHA'ALLAH~ AND MAY ALLAH UNITE US!
